“Carrying Her Flame”

A celebratory seasonal spectacle bringing light and fire to honour Brigid.

Landscape Theatre Company LUXE, Kildare County Council, Davis Events bring fire and light through the town. A feast of lanterns, procession and fire performance to kindle Brigid’s flame and mark the changing seasons.

“Carrying Her Flame”. Working with the community of Maynooth, LUXE will carry light and fire in a processional performance spreading her flame on the Main Street in Maynooth, with a fiery and illuminated celebration.

Celebrating Brigid, Lá Féile Bríde. St Brigid, Imbolc, the feminine and the lightening sky after winter on Ireland’s New National Holiday weekend.

LUXE have made trailblazing Landscape Spectacle across Ireland and Internationally for 15 years and more. They present processional work ranging from intimate voyages, to large scale illuminated spectacle, bringing fire to places where the land, sea and sky meet. Working outdoors, often with community, LUXE draw on a dedicated group of international performers, musicians and artists to bring alive their visual world. 

In the centre of Maynooth, come to feast your senses as Brigid’s flame is carried in this inspirational illuminated event. Come to watch the amazing performers spread light and fire around the town amongst the massed crowd. Gathering from 7.15pm on the main street for a 7.30 start. This is a powerful and emotive public event for all to enjoy.  

Please dress appropriately for the weather on the day.  A traffic management system and road closures will be in place in the town.
